£1.60

Prolifically flowering Half Hardy Annual

Description

French Marigold – Tagetes patula – Dwarf Double Flowers

300 seeds

Beautifully compact with a 30cm (12″) spread and height. These Dwarf French Marigolds are ideal for containers, front of borders and hanging baskets. Very easy to grow and will flower for a long period over the summer. Remove dead flowers to encourage further blooms. They will also withstand a ‘Chelsea Chop’ style cut back when they start to get leggy.

Planting French Marigolds as a companion plant can help deter plant pests.

How to grow:

Indoors in March, sow thinly in trays or modules of seed compost, cover with 0.5-1cm of compost. Keep compost moist and protect from frost. Plant on into pots when seedlings are big enough to handle and harden off the young plants off before planting outdoors after all risk of frost has passed. Alternatively, sow direct in a well prepared, weed free bed in May. Sowing thinly 1cm deep, later thinning plants to 20cm (8”) apart in all directions.
