Description
More commonly known as Billy’s Buttons, these 3cm (1.25”) diameter yellow spherical flowers grow on slender stems making them perfect for fresh and dried flower arrangements. Although a perennial, they are usually grown as an annual in the UK as they are not hardy. Plant height up to 90cm (3ft).
How to grow: With heat so preferably indoors, in March-April, surface sow then lightly cover with compost. Pot on when big enough to handle and protect from frost. Plant out after all risk of frost has passed. Outdoor sowings in flowering site can be done in May. Germination takes approximately 14 days. Plant out or thin to 30cm (12”).
